The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, kicking off this Saturday, is poised to hit a record Rs 4,500 crore in ad revenue, driven by 32 sponsorship deals and more in the pipeline. Broadcaster JioStar is also targeting 100 million paid streaming subscribers via direct sign-ups and bundled telecom offers.

Sponsorship & Advertising Strategy

This marks the first IPL post the Star India-Viacom18 merger, securing major sponsors like My11Circle, PhonePe, SBI, Britannia 50-50, and Amazon Prime. Ad pricing highlights:

  • TV Ads: Rs 40-240 crore per package
  • Regional TV Ads: From Rs 16 crore
  • Connected TV (CTV): Rs 8.5 lakh per 10 seconds
  • Mobile Ads: Rs 250 per impression

JioHotstar’s Subscription Growth

JioStar is aggressively pushing for 40 million new subscribers on JioHotstar, growing its base from 50 million to 62 million since its February 2025 launch.

Massive Viewership & Pay-TV Growth

Aiming for one billion viewers across TV and digital, JioStar expects pay-TV subscriptions to grow by 1.5-2 million. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025’s success—5.4 billion views and 110 billion watch minutes—signals strong demand.

With aggressive ad sales, rising subscriptions, and expanding pay-TV reach, IPL 2025 is set to be the most commercially successful season ever.
